Forgotten Pattern on S6 tablet...how to do factory reset?

I have forgotten my pattern to unlock my Galaxy S6 tablet.
I've Googled it and the instructions I find don't help.

Hopefully you have find my mobile on in your Samsung account and you can reset your password through your Samsung account. Unfortunately, if you didn't, you are pretty much hosed and you've got a paperweight left.

I try to put a last name the first leter and another 3 numbers doest get it what I can do

I'm going to wait until the battery dies then plug it in and do a safe reboot then.
Otherwise, I'm going to recycle it.
