Hi

I have problem with my new A9+

Obviously, it is a feature, that when you touch, the initial movement of your finger is not tracked and after a short movement, tracking begins with a jump to the actual position. For scrolling, it's probably the intended behavior, but for my use case, fine tuning of controllers, it's a disaster.

Is it somehow possible to turn this off? Otherwise I have to return the tablet. My ten years old galaxy tab didn't have this issue.

That's odd that your getting a Touch delay on your A9+ I only say that because I don't have that effect on my A9+. I don't know of any settings that would enable or disable touch delay. I would suggest having it checked out to see what could be causing this issue for you

Thanks for your reply.

It's not really a delay, it's more like a protection, that a small initial movement doesn't have an effect and only when it's sure you want to move, it's reported. After it's gone over this threshold, you can do fine adjustments without a problem.

I checked it with a touch testing app. There you see, after the initial touch, you can move the finger about a millimeter and the point doesn't move. When you go further, it jumps to that position and from then on it moves normally.

I hope, this is clear enough...

Strange I don’t seem to have that effect as soon as I touch the screen and slide my finger my screen response instantly to jumping or anything quite smoothly

Thanks. So we are really talking about the same thing, you put the finger on the screen, for a moment you just hold it, then you do tiny movements. The point doesn't move, as soon as you move the finger more then around a mm, it starts moving? You don't have that?

BTW, your still on android 13? I have android 14 and one ui 6.1

I'm thinking it's a display issue that's why I recommended having it checked at a service center to see what the issue could be since they are no setting that I know of that would cause it

I appreciate your effort, but i also found information on developer forums, that this is an intentional feature of android (move threshold/ touch slope). Apparently, it's effect differs between devices and could maybe be taken care of in a specific software.

But why you don't have this with the same device? I programmed touch screens, so for me, the screen seems ok. But on the other hand, there is also a strange glitch in the text magnifier...

I'm still not sure, that you are looking for the same thing as me, therefore I made a video that shows it on my device:

https://youtu.be/LKySDAaWvfY?si=4VmTT2i_nAQ7Z7UR
