Same pinciple applies. I'm sure there's a diagnostic tool. And a device will shut down to protect itself

Not sure why, but it just started happening, and happens within about 30 seconds after plugging it in, most often. I've tried changing power settings, taking off fast charging, putting on battery protection, nothing helps. Any ideas?

Your phone may be overheating while charging or something could be malfunctioning with the charging port. In any case, the phone is protecting itself from damage. Do a diagnostic on the phone. Download Good Guardians from the Galaxy store and the thermal guardian module to check for overheating.

You can run the diagnostic from the device care settings on your phone or through the support tab in the members app.
