Yes. You seem to have the correct information that there is no AI Note Assist supported, contrary to the Samsung link I provided which says it does. So that is a problem. Is it a solid note taking platform with AI? Not without grammar and spell check--which is very low bar. You can't honestly call that a solid note taking tool. Yes it has autocorrect, but so did phones in the early 2000s. And then there is the keyboard with AI key that is a mere hot key to Gemini. Nothing to do with note taking. So together with keyboard i am out $700. There were much better, real, AI note taking soulutions on the market, but i belived Samsung and the marketing. So where did I go wrong? I do regret the purchase as it is not a solid platform for note taking, and I think people should know that, or fix the marketing and tech specs, or add the features.

Missing Galaxy AI & Note Taking Features

After much research on the Samsung website and watching marketing campaigns, I was convinced the Tab S10 FE would be great, portable, note-taking tablet, bringing in the new AI to the experience. But I am woefully dissapointed and feel scammed honestly. When I fingally got it, I found it cannot do even the most basic functions like Grammar or Spell Check. Here is the what is missing i have found so far:

In Samsung Notes, there is no "Galaxy AI" feature, aka "Note Assist", aka "three-star" button. So the following are missing:

-Autoformat

-Summarize

-Spelling and Grammar

-Translate

-Transcribe

Additionally Samsung browser also doesn't support:

-Summarize

-Translate

To add salt to the wound, Samsung markets the "Book Cover Keyboard Slim - WITH AI KEY!" I bought it believing it gave quick access to cool AI features of this tablet, but all the AI key does is map to Bixby or Gemini AI. There is no Samsung AI here. Fooled me again!

In samsung.com/us/tablets/compare/ there is no mention that FE tablet will have vastly less note taking ability than any other product (not even spell check or grammar)

In samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10000941/ is says the Tab S10 FE supports "Note Assist with Galaxy AI".

Where did I go wrong in thinking this was a good platform for student or individual note taking? Am I missing something? I worked with Samsung customer service through SMS chat and they remoted into my machine through Tutor app, but they found no explanation as to why it was missing and then asked me to post here for help. So...help? Did I just waste a ton of money?

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE series, including the Tab S10 FE and Tab S10 FE+, does not offer the same full suite of AI features as the more premium Galaxy Tab S10 or Galaxy phones. While it does include some AI-powered productivity tools and features, according to Sammy Fans, the FE series doesn't have all the advanced AI capabilities of the flagship models.

Key Differences:

Galaxy AI Features:

The FE series doesn't have all the Galaxy AI features available on higher-end Galaxy devices.

AI-Powered Productivity:

The FE series still offers AI-driven features like Circle to Search, Instant Math Solutions, and handwriting enhancement.

One UI 7:

The FE series runs One UI 7, which is Samsung's latest user interface, but it's not the full Galaxy AI experience.

Integration with Other Galaxy Devices:

The FE series integrates seamlessly with other Galaxy devices, allowing users to manage their home status and SmartThings devices.

In essence, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE series provides a solid AI-powered experience, but it doesn't include all the advanced features found on the higher-end Galaxy Tab S10 or Galaxy phones.

My sentiments exactly. The reason I'm here is that something as simple as having a note-taking feature or spell and grammar check on the keyboard in text should be common. All other keyboards offer this feature. But I am a Samsung guy and want to be in the Samsung ecosystem, which is the reason I got rid of my S9 FE because there were no AI features. I'm a simple guy who wants simple features, and I feel that spelling and grammar check should just be standard.

After more analysis, here is the software that is/is not in the S10 FE and other S10 tablets other than ultra I assume. I am comparing to the AI features on my S22 phone which is over 3 year old now.

The "Galaxy AI" features found in S22 settings are gone in the S10 (FE), and replaced with "Intelligent Features" which is a sub category of "Advanced Features".

Tab S10 (FE) - Intelligent Features:
Pictures:
-Object Eraser, Best Face
Camera:
-Custom Filters
Video:
-Trim tool
AI:
-AI Select. Select anything on the screen and crop it out
Browser:
-Read Aloud

S22 Phone - Galaxy AI features:
Call Assist
-Real-time translation during voice call
Writing Assist
-Tools to compose, organize, and improve text, plus chat translation
Interpreter
-Live translation of spoken conversation
Note Assist
-Auto Format, Summarize, Grammar, Spell Check, Translate and summarize.
Transcript Assist
-Transcribe audio recordings and produce summaries
Browsing Assist
-Summarize websites, Translate websites
Photo Assist
-Object/Person Eraser, Best Face
Drawing Assist
-Image generation from drawing

So yeah, so it is clear that many of the S10 Series tablets can be kind of useless if you were hoping to use them for note taking in 2025 with expectation that you will be ready for the all the cool AI writing, note taking, meeting summary, calendar assistance that will be needed for you to compete and keep up at school or work.

Personally I think it is a huge miss of the market on Samsung side. I believe most people think the differences in the tablets was more around screen size and other hardware differences, and this sentiment is reflected by Samsung's own detailed comparisons of their tablets on their website which listing hardware differences only. Other than slower gaming speed, no one is thinking that the software, basic note taking, and productivity tool experience will be vastly different between them. That needs to be made more clear.

You know, I purchased the S9 FE and probably used it twice because it didn't have any features I needed. I was on the verge of buying an Android because everything I have is Samsung. I saw the S10 FE, and customer service assured me it had AI features, and they were right—just not many. So, I still think it's a mess on Samsung's part because I keep buying their products over and over again, and they're very expensive for fewer features than you can get on a regular Android phone. I don't need much, but I do need grammar and spelling check, and they didn't put that on the keyboard. No Grammarly assist, either, which would have been nice.

I totally agree. You are gently led to believe the AI is the same on both, but the fine print is in fact not printed, is hidden. Maybe there are some workarounds, but that doesn't matter. The fact is that the tools missing makes a great difference in the productivity matter. I just spent my money on a tablet that, in a world each day more dominated by AI , will get obsolete earlier.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE does not include Galaxy AI Note Assist features, such as automatic formatting, summarization, or translation within the Samsung Notes app. While Samsung's promotional materials may be misleading, Note Assist and other core Galaxy AI functions are excluded from the Tab S10 FE model and are generally reserved for the higher-end Tab S10 series and phones.

I bought Galaxy Tab S10 FE because i thought it will have note assist too. Like my s23.. huhh..

You are disappointing Samsung.

At this price, your tab does nothing compared to other brand.

That feature is not available on your tablet, in addition to a number of other devices:

https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10000941/
