Is there a way to test if the battery currently has a charge without having to open the tablet and test the battery directly with a multimeter. I thought maybe by connecting the charging cable to the tablet and then using a multimeter on the charging contacts from the USB plug end of the cable that it might give a voltage reading if the battery had any charge in it but I am not sure if that is something that would work or not?

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to test if the battery currently has a charge?

Hi there I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 tablet that suddenly just stopped working and is now dead I was using it when it just appeared to shut off and now it will not turn on or charge.

I have tried connecting it to the wall charger, connected it to three different laptops, connected it to a desktop computer and it does nothing it is completely dead. I have tried holding down the power and volume down and also the power and volume up buttons for 20-30 seconds but neither of these options worked it does nothing and appears to be dead. I have also tried using a different wall charger and three different USB to USB C cables but nothing I have tried has worked.

At the time of using the tablet it had recently been fully charged so should still have had a pretty full battery charge when I was using it. The tablet made no sounds when it shut off the screen just shut off while I was browsing the internet and now it won't turn back on or charge. I have inspected the charging port on the bottom of the tablet for any debris but it appears clear I have also charged the tablet overnight using the wall charger but it still will not turn on.

Any help or advice would be greatly received.

Yeah that is what I thought I have tried everything I can think of to get it working the tablet is no longer under warranty so if I can’t find a fix for the issue I may have a go at removing the display and see if I can identify the problem. I am beginning to suspect it is a battery issue as the tablet is completely dead and unresponsive.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. Try going to the nearest repair shop and ask them to just diagnose it, don't allow them to fix it.
