Every now and then, when I try to touch my tablet with just my finger and not my S-Pen, it won't respond to my finger and the screen won't do anything. This problem only goes away when I turn my tablet off and on again (which is annoying to do constantly). I don't have a screen protector on here so there is no reason as to why my fingerprints shouldn't register. Is there a permanent way to fix this issue? I have already restarted my tablet and checked for updates. I have seen others talk about this issue on various platforms and it seems that no one has a good fix. Please help, thank you.

In my experience...you have 2 issues. One could be because there isn't a screen protector, & the screen is getting damaged, & you can't see the damage because it's so small.
The 2nd reason I'm far more experienced with...when the screen starts to give u trouble, the worst is yet to come. It could be a sign that your device is starting to die on you. Mine died in steps. The end result was 75% of my screen was like an 80s TV screen going fuzzy.
On the bright side, if it's your phone dying, you have time to find a new device. I think mine lasted 3 months from the 1st sign of trouble.
PSA: THIS HAS JUST BEEN MY EXPERIENCE ON MY 5-YEAR-OLD DEVICE. MAY NOT APPLY TO YOURS, BUT I HOPE I COULD BE SOME HELP.

It's not certain apps. It is just random. Happens all the time.

And I already said I do not have a screen protector.

@userz1qYscuIAd When you say "turn turn my tablet off and on again", do you mean reboot? or do you mean just click the side button to turn off the screen?

Have you tried wiping the device cache? It wipes out incompatible or outdated cache information which might be incompatible. It does not erase any user data nor applications.

To wipe the device cache partition:

1. Power off your device and plug it into your phone or computer via USB.
2. Power up while holding down the Volume up key and the Side key until the Samsung logo appears.
3. An Android recovery menu will appear.
4. Use the Volume down key to scroll down to Wipe cache partition.
5. Click the side key to select it.
6. Use the Volume down key to scroll down to Yes.
7. Click the side key to select it. The Cache will be wiped almost instantaneously.
8. Click the side key to select "Reboot system now"
