Battery drain varies depending on the usage of the OP. For instance, gaming and watching videos will use more battery. It's normal for a device to get warm or even hot under intensive gaming or videos. But if your device gets too hot to touch, stop using it and let it cool down. Your device should learn your usage patterns over time.
If you are saying you are on day 3 on one charge, then that is excellent!

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ has a battery capacity of 7,040 mAh, which typically provides around 10-12 hours of screen time for regular tasks and browsing. For more demanding activities, the battery may deplete faster.

I bought an A9+ X210 last year and loved it. Unfortunately it got stolen, so I bought another, thinking it was the same tablet. The new one seems to eat up the battery. Two hours of internet browsing used 39% of the battery. I am only on day 3. Can I expect better battery usage as it learns my habits? It also seems to heat up fast. I did not feel heat on the other one. Do I have one with issues or is this just how they run now?

During the first few days, battery drain and heating can be higher as the system optimizes apps and learns usage. If it continues after a week, it may point to a faulty unit or software issue consider updates, resets, or contacting support.

No, I have had it 3 days and have been getting maybe 4 hours use, mostly internet and email app use on 75% battery usage! I generally got 10 hours at least on last year's tablet using 75%. Sometimes it was 12, before UI 7 update.

Ya, the battery doesn't seem to be lasting as long as it should be.

Try wiping the "cache partition" to see if that helps. It's safe and won't remove your settings or app files. Clearing the "cache partition" can help resolve any issues caused by old or corrupted system cache data and battery issues.

Follow the steps below,

BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT SELECT WIPE DATA/ FACTORY RESET OPTION. THIS OPTION WILL REMOVE YOUR FILES!!!

Clear the cache partition
- Turn the phone off (shut down)
- Press and hold the Volume Up key, then press and hold the side key.
- When the Android system recovery menu options show release buttons.
- Press the volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
- Press the side key to select.
- Press the volume down key to highlight yes, then press the side key to select.
- When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system is now highlighted.
- Press the side key to restart the device.
