After the update on my galaxy tab9, when I swipe up and hold there is an option to have additional desktops. does anyone know how to turn this off? I don't have the Samsung Dex option and I have searched for desktop/virtual desktops to no avail. I have dug through my settings/home settings and haven't seen anything, any clues? TIA x

I have aTabS10+ Not sure if that matters between each version ofTabS's
Anyway,
So Samsung integrated this desktop feature into this pull down tab right where you pull down for your notifications. Is there away to not have that? I'm constantly annoyed by my apps opening in another desktop under window mode and I'd rather just, not, and have it stay with the regular UI tablet mode function because there aren't a lot of apps that have designed formatting for landscape tablets, or androids, or samsungs window feature anyway..

Tablets still fall under the mobile UI and many apps aren't necessarliy designed with large tablets

In mind when created. ( Like Facebook or social sites with shorts, or stories or the like) Facebook, if you try to watch a story or something in landscape, it wigs out on you.

This stopped it on mine it will
Go to your settings - advanced features - Multi window - and toggle off Swipe for pop up view and toggle off show handle for full screen apps. You most likely are swiping down on the handle which is the only way I know to turn on the extra desktop

Thank you! This has been so annoying. I LOVE when Samsung implements and defaults to new features without providing an obvious way to revert said features 😐

Thanks!

Yeah, I actually want the swipe to pop up view because it doesn't force the app into "Window mode" or a separate Desktop layout. But that handle in the middle of the screen that automatically forces it into window mode really bugged me.

The apps work just fine in the regular UI pop-up mode. It's only when you go into that window mode that things don't work as well, and it's super inconvenient trying to close them. I guess I'm just OCD and always clearing open apps.

They changed it last time I went looking for it.
It used to be a UI switch somewhere, but now it's integrated through the DEX Quick Panel setting to switch between the regular desktop tablet UI and the New Desktop UI without connecting to an external monitor. It's a cool feature when you want it, but for regular use, it's not practical (for me).
