Please help, galaxy tab 11+ password lock

I have a new galaxy tab 11+. Apparently a password was created but I don't remember doing it or what it is. I need to reset to factory settings, right?

I have watched numerous YouTube videos seeking the proper method for resetting, however, they don't address the unknown password factor.

Product registration asks for the IMEI#, which I have no access to.

I am not able to turn off the tablet.

The variety of suggestions makes me nervous. I'm having issues getting in touch directly with Samsung support.

I am beyond frustrated and need some genuinely helpful feedback. Thanx.

If your referring to the pin/swipe/Password all you need to do is preform a normal factory reset. And then long back into the same Google and Samsung accounts that was on the device at the time of reset.

See if this helps Force Restart: Press and hold both the Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time for about 10 to 15 seconds.

Catch the Logo: As soon as the screen goes black (the tablet turns off), immediately let go of those buttons and hold down the Volume Up and Power buttons.

Release: Keep holding the Volume Up and Power buttons until the Samsung or Android logo appears on the screen, then release them.

Navigate to Reset: You are now in the Android Recovery menu. Use the Volume Down button to scroll down and highlight "Wipe data/factory reset". Press the Power button to select it.

Confirm: Scroll down to highlight "Factory data reset" or "Yes" and press the Power button.

Reboot: Once the wipe is complete, highlight "Reboot system now" and press the Power button

Hello userL9fU4tvA4t,

Thank you for reaching out to Community with your issue. I can imagine how frustrating it is to be essentially locked out of your new device. With it being a password issue, the only viable method of regaining access to your device is to perform a factory reset. Please follow this link to get information and instruction on performing a reset. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10002030/

Available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider, software version, and phone model. Also, it will require that you have the original credentials used to set up your device initially.
