Tablet keeps going dark

I have tried to find things in settings to help because the screen keeps going dark and I have to keep hitting the on button and I have restart it also and I can't figure out what happened to it because it was working fine real early today and tonight it has been not working well and I just don't understand what could have happened to cause this problem with my tablet and thank you

Scroll down on the quick panel, and hold the brightness slider. Toggle off adaptive brightness.

To help us better understand the issue, could you please provide the following information?

Is the tablet running the latest software version?
Did adjusting the Adaptive Brightness setting, as suggested by @Chummy129, resolve the issue?
Do you have Screen Timeout enabled, and if so, what is it currently set to?

We will be happy to continue reviewing the issue, once we have this additional information.
