Tab A SM-T290 navigation button issues

Last day or two the navigation buttons on my Samsung tablet have changed and I did not change them. Their orientation is the same, and they look fine when I am just using the tablet. When I go to a website the navigation buttons are almost invisible, the gray tint on them is gone, they are transparent. They are there and they work, but no longer visible.

I tried changing to swipe and waiting a second then going back. i tried moving the button orientation to each other and their position on the screen, I tried restarting the tablet. none of these changes solved the issue.
