Am I the only one that my gemini voice input randomly doesn't work? I have to restart my phone in order for it to work

Nope it happens to me too even before the 8.5 beta. If I'm in my car not on Wi-Fi and say hey Google, it wouldn't respond and before you even ask YES I have it set so that Google can listen and respond from the lock screen. It's intermittent and I think lends to there being an issue as you have suggested.
