I'm an AV project manager. I sell hundereds of displays every year. Jan 2019 we purchased the un75nu8000 for my livingroom. May 27th 2020, after several attempts to replace every part in the display multiple times to fix the "Black screen of death"... They are FINALLY replacing this display. I have been a huge fan of Samsung for years but this is a complete disappointment... This line all together has been nothing but trouble. Having to always set up your HDMI ports evertime you plug a device in? Even if its the same device in the same port? Come on!! Save the device settings within the port!!! The fact that not all display mounts come with long enough screws to reach the back of the display. Now I have to send a tech to Home Depot to look for screws... I will say, I am probably going to get another Samsung. And I still have customers that love the brand. But come on...
That is a possibility, but a technician would need to diagnose the issue and make sure that it is actually the board. If that's a process you would like to move forward with, feel free to send me a private message: http://bit.ly/2ihPL97
Hi, me again, I FINALLY figured out the solution. In external device manager, turn off anynet HDMI CEC, and in eco solution, turn off auto power off. All my black screen problems are solved.
I still do recommend getting a high quality HDMI cable as mentioned in my pinned answer, but if any of you want to try this out as a quick fix, Im hoping and believe it'll work for a good chunk of you.
Hello, I have a brand new 50" 7 Series smart TV. UN50TU7000FXZA. The TV will be fine and then I will power on the TV and all i see is a black screen with sound. I then unplugged the TV and HDMI cable from the Dish Network Hopper and waited. I powered it up and it was fine. After turning the TV on and off a few more times, I had the same thing happen with the black screen. Turning the power on and off did not correct the issue. Also, when turning the TV on while it was working, occasionally it tell me that i had to turn my Dish box on, but it was already on. This occurs across all sources. Any idesa before I return the TV.
When your TV has a black screen even when it's on, it's quite possible it could actually be your external device and not your TV. If your TV is connected using a One Connect Box, there are a couple of extra steps to troubleshoot.
·Press the Home (Menu) button on the remote.
Confirm the TV is set to the same source as the external device.
Test the HDMI cable.
Test different external devices.
