Hi I have a Samsung UN58MU6100 that is only about 2 years old and having been having this issue for about a year now. It started with 2 black spots on the left side and top centre of the screen. A new one has since developed lately in the top right corner as well. Wondering if there is anything that can be done to fix this as it is very frustrating when watching something with a lighr background. I tried the picture test already but all 3 failed.
fyi... Samsung told me to go pound pavement. I am on my own with a $6000 boat anchor.
Following this thread, I guess the consensus is that this is just a manufacturing error or technical failure? I had a similar spot appear on my UN58MU6070 just around 2 years after purchase, across all input types.
Already tried power cycling and factory rebooting, anything else I should try?
I'm sorry to hear that if this occurs on all cycles and during the picture test this will require service.
Depending on the warranty of the TV you have a couple of options,
First, if your TV is within warranty you can send me a private message with your full model and serial number and I can get that service set up for you.
If your TV is out of warranty you can use the link down below to find a service center in your area.
How can I confirm whether my TV is still under warranty coverage?
Unfortunately I'm not in a position to take the TV to a service center at this time. Is there an option that could involve a specialist coming to me?
In either case, what is the most likely fix for this?
We can look into that. Go to menu > support > contact samsung and your serial number will be listed there. Once you have it, send me a private message and I will be happy to look into the warranty status http://bit.ly/2ihPL97. Due to the size of the television, a technician would come to your home for the repair.
