Like maybe many of you, I had trusted Samsung products for years.  They generally had been pretty good quality (for me at least).  I think it's time for me to move to another brand.  Yes, like many on this community, I have the fabled KS8000 with ANOTHER panel that is going bad.

Last year, Samsung was nice enough to give me an out of warranty screen replacement.  After only one year though, this second screen is going bad.  This thing is absolute garbage.  Yeah, yeah, yeah....I know it's out of warranty, but I expect a product like this to last several years.  By "last" I mean be able to display a picture, not necessarily remain cutting edge.

So I guess this post is just me blowing off steam.  Anyone recommend any different brands with better screen reliability?

Look at OLED. They cost more but that's because they're worth it. I switched to OLED after I got fed up dealing with splotchy pictures, edge bleed, clouding, etc. The picture of my OLED is as flawless as it was 3 years ago when I got it.

The fix is very simple if you know basic soldering. I can provide more information on how to fix it if you would like. It only took me 15 minutes to save hundreds of dollars.

I understand how this may be frustrating and want to help does this occur on all sources and during the picture test? If it does this will require service, you have a couple of options based on your warranty.

- If your unit was recently purchased, you can check with your retailer on their return/exchange processes.
- If you have an extended warranty you can reach out to them to have service set up.
- If you're within the one year warranty, you can Private message me or one of our moderators with your full model and serial number to have service setup
- If you're OUT of warranty, you can use this link below to find a service center in your area.
