RU9000 Firmware

JUMP TO SOLUTION

Hello,

I recently purchased an RU9000. I specifically picked the RU9000 over the RU8000 since it is a 2020 model and "should" get support longer.

I was disappointed to find out that is has the older 2019 version of Tizen.

But even more worrisome, it doesn't even seem to be getting the updates that the 2019 TVs are getting, namely the 1371 update.

Is Samsung going to update the RU9000 with 1371?

Also, any chance that it will get the newer Tizen like most of the other Samsung 2020 TVs?

Thanks

Re: RU9000 Firmware

JUMP TO SOLUTION

For those who are also are stuck with an 2020 TV with a 2019 Tizen (RU9000)...

I decided to try the newer firmware from last year's RU8000 on the RU9000 and it worked. I'm sure if the RU9000 wasn't compatible, then the firmware would not have loaded, but use at your own risk!

Thanks Samsung for being on the ball and looking out for your consumers!
