Help, my Samsung smart TV also has developed weird horizontal lines across the entire screen, the bottom 1/4 is a darker horizontal band as well. At first, turning it off and back on helped the picture, but within about 5 minutes, the problem was back. Then it started scrambling the picture. I just went to shut it off and realized that the right side of the tv was burning hot! What the heck kind of issue is this? This tv isn’t that old!
I too had the melting corner on my tv (UN50J6200AFXZA). The tv was less than two years and out of warranty. After seeing this thread, I entered my claim online. I was told that I would get a call back within 5 business days. After 6 days someone called and asked if I was injured (I wasn't) and that I was approved for an exchange. The order for a replacement tv (UN50NU6900FXZA) was approved and would be shipped to me. The replacement TV was similar in features to the bad tv except this one was 4k. They told me I'd be contacted by the shipping company in 7-10 business days to arrange the time to do the swap. So far so good. Now, though it's been 17 business days. I've called support several times. The only thing they appear to be able to do is say that they would reach out to the exchange dept or a supervisor and they would call me back - but they never do. They are not able to give a date when the tv shipped or a tracking number. I suspect the tv has not yet shipped. After searching around, it appears this is a common scenario with exchanges. If anyone else has successfully received an exchange, let us know how long it took. Is everyone else having similar experiences?
Similar experience here. Was approved for an exchange on 9/12/2018. Never got a call on to what TV they would be offering me. Never got a call from anyone I have called many times and used the chat. Everyone has told me something different on time frame to expect a call. This is ridiculous.
Was told after I'd receive a call today never did. So called back and told it would happen this week. Also was told can't be transfered to the exchange department as they are not taking calls. I wish they just gave me a refund, I would have had a TV already. It is our only Tv and it melted and burned my finger. Luckily my children didn't touch it. I'm lucky I caught it before it burnt down the house
