A Series & Other MobileI finally decided to try out a Samsung product for the first time and went for the A06. It promised fast charging as part of the specifications. Sadly, the phone takes well over 3 hours to get from 0 to 100 percent despite the fast charging feature being turned on.
Is there any solution to this or do I just look for a way to sell it off and keep avoiding Samsung products again????

A Series & Other MobileHere's what's likely happening: 1. āFast Chargingā Is Relative
The Galaxy A06 supports 15W fast charging, which is quite basic by today's standards. Compared to other devices (even midrange or budget ones from brands like Xiaomi or Realme pushing 33W to 67W), 15W feels like a crawl. So even though it's technically āfastā in Samsung's entry-level ecosystem, in practice, it still takes 2.5ā3 hours to charge from 0 to 100%.
2. Charger Compatibility
Are you using the official Samsung 15W Adaptive Fast Charger? If you're using a different brick (even one rated higher like 25W or 30W), the phone may fall back to a lower standard if it doesnāt detect Samsungās protocol. USB PD or Quick Charge might not kick in fully unless itās the right combo of charger + cable.
3. Cable Quality Matters
Generic or older USB-A to USB-C cables might not support high current transfer. A poor cable can bottleneck charging speed even with a good charger.
4. Background Apps & Screen-On Charging
If youāre using the phone while charging or have apps running in the background (sync-heavy apps, social media, etc.), itāll slow down the process. Heat can also trigger the battery protection mechanism, making charging slower toward 100%.
What You Can Try Before Ditching It:
Get the Official Samsung 15W charger if you havenāt already (if you're already using it, then skip this).
Use Airplane Mode or Power Saving Mode while charging. Charging with the screen off helps too.
Try a high-quality cable (like one from Anker or UGREEN).
Test with AccuBattery (app) to measure the actual charge rate in mA. Itāll tell you if the phoneās drawing proper current or being throttled.
Final Thoughts
If fast charging is non-negotiable for you and this is a dealbreaker, it's fair to consider reselling it. But if youāre open to tweaking your routine a bit (charging overnight or while idle), it can still work decently as a budget phone.
If you ever decide to give Samsung another shot, aim for their midrange devices (like the A25, A35, or M14 5G). They have better charging support (25W+) and more optimized performance.
Want help picking a better alternative for the same budget? I can recommend a few solid options.

A Series & Other Mobilefirstly 25W isn't fast by today standard, secondly don't start charge your phone from 0%, make a habit always charge from 20%, to make it even faster turn on maximum battery protection and let the phone stop charging at 80%, this way is much faster than charging from 0% - 100%
