So, this is the third time this has happened since the Feb 1 Play system/security update. My AOD is set to always show and it has always shown with no problem . Since the update, after a couple of hours of inactivity, my screen will just go dark. This is a problem because I use my phone as a nightstand clock and it's alarming to wake up and not see the clock. My phone is plugged in when this happens, as I charge it at night.

I don't know if it's related to the fact that the last couple of nights snore tracking hasn't worked because it says my phone wasn't charging. My phone is fully charged in the morning, so charging is working.

The first time the AOD went off, it was not on the charger, so I just thought it may be some new battery saving feature from the update. I have an A54 5G, if it matters.

Interestingly enough, because I still can, I took my AOD off of auto brightness and the AOD stayed on all night (thank goodness for sleep masks, because that thing is *bright*) and the health app snore detection registered that the phone was on the charger.  There might be some glitch that is somehow connecting the charge status to the AOD.  I'm going to test tonight with it back on auto brightness and see if the AOD goes off and the health app still registers being on charge.  I'm hoping that the temporary change may have pushed things back to normal.

I noticed this on my S26U, it doesn't bother me because I don't use my phone as a bedside clock. I also don't charge overnight. It must be one of those new features Samsung has added without telling us in a change log.

As long as it's not just me.  It makes no sense, though.  Why have the option to keep it on all the time if it's going to time out anyway?  I am not the only person who uses the phone as a bedside clock.  I use snore tracking, which requires the phone to be on the charger and I also think the backup won't take place if the phone is not charging.

That must be it, I have auto-brightness turned off. I have my AOD set to Auto, face down it is off.

Well, so far my AOD has stayed on all day even though I put it back to the original settings with adaptive brightness (I don't need my room lit up like a  disco at night).  Funny thing, it doesn't seem that bright even with the adaptive brightness off - right up until it's in a completely dark room.  With adaptive brightness on, it still throws a great deal of light (amazing for a tiny clock face), but at least it's more of a glow than a beacon - and I do have that sleep mask.

I'll see what happens overnight.

So, temporarily changing the settings and then changing them back appears to have corrected the condition.  My AOD stayed on throughout the day and night.
