Iโ€™m reporting two critical issues on my Galaxy XCover6 Pro (SM-G736U1) immediately after the One UI 8.0 / Android 16 update (Build: G736U1UESAGYL1).

1. Notification Panel Gesture Bug: The swipe-down gesture to open the notification shade is almost completely unresponsive once the phone is unlocked. It takes 3 to 5 attempts to work.

  • Crucial Detail: The gesture works perfectly on the Lock Screen. The issue only starts after unlocking the device, which points to a software process or overlay conflict in the UI.

  • Safe Mode: It also works fine in Safe Mode.

2. Native Gallery Map Issue: When I open a photoโ€™s details to see the location, the map is just a blank/white screen. It fails to render any map data, even though my internet connection and GPS are working fine in other apps like Google Maps.

Iโ€™ve already cleared the system cache and checked permissions. This is clearly an optimization bug in the new build that affects first-party apps (Gallery) and core system gestures.

Iโ€™ve uploaded a video showing the unresponsive panel here:https://youtu.be/0y6IvlLOYv0

Samsung Xcover 6 pro, I'm showing the critical bugs that appeared on my Samsung Galaxy XCover6 Pro immediately after updating to One UI 8.0 (Android 16). The swipe-down gesture is completely unresponsive. I have to lock/unlock and or swipe down several times to get it working Build: G736U1UESAGYL1

"Good morning everyone,

Today, I received a notification for a new system update (a software patch from Samsung or Android, I'm not sure exactly which side the fix came from). Since I was already expecting this to happen, I hit download and install immediately, feeling hopeful.

Once it finished, I restarted the phone and started testing everything. Iโ€™ve been using the device for a good while now, and the glitch is gone. I haven't experienced the notification shade lag or the Gallery map issue even once.

This confirms my suspicions from the start: the problem was never my apps or my personal data, but a bug within the initial One UI 8.0 / Android 16 release.
