Current iPhone user has question before I switch

Hello all.

I am considering the switch to a Samsung phone but have a concern.  With my iPhone when I'm in my car  I can say Siri navigate to (contact name) and maps will start navigation direction to the (contact name) address.  Does Android work the same way?

Are you currently using Apple CarPlay or just using the phone set?  Android Auto works basically the same as CarPlay, except you would say "hey Google" to start navigation.  The same if you are using the phone set - use the Google Assistant or Gemini for navigation.

Once I connect my phone to the car via the USB cable, I don't have to even say 'Hey Google', the app can be triggered by the assistant switch on the steering column. I can also use the volume, forward and back switches on the column as well.
