Hi
This is a feature request. I found no other official place for suggestions.
I have a messaging application which sends notifications every time someone sends me a message. Some people like to send messages frequently (eg sends one word messages) and each time the app sends a notification. It is annoying that the phone constantly chimes/rings/whatever. The apps can't limit the notification frequency. I request a feature (which many other phones already have, including my previous one) whereby it is possible to limit the amount of time where a new notification from an app can make a sound/vibrate/etc. So if the app sends a notification it will be a normal one for the first time, but if the same app sends another notification within a given timeframe that is muted (it still appears in the notification bar, but no sound/vibrate/etc). The phone shall only make a sound/vibrate if the given time is elapsed since it made the previous one which produced sound/vibrate. Eg 30 sec / 1 minute / 5 minute / 15 minute.
And it would be great if it were possible to automatically disable sounds/vibrate for notifications if the screen is active (aka the user is looking at the screen and can see the popup), and re-enable them automatically once the screen is off.

A Series & Other MobileI'm pretty sure some customer service representatives do. But I also submitted it via the app.

A Series & Other MobileSo I tried asking it there, all I got was "there is no development in your country". Support is completely useless it seems.

A Series & Other MobileIt's a little bit of a learning curve but if you join a macrodroid group I'm sure someone would be glad to make a macro of this possible for you.

A Series & Other Mobile@JhonDoe2 You didn't specify the messaging application but some of them allow you to mute individual conversations. Even using something like Google Messages, you can set that conversation to use "Silent" for the sound. That way that chatty person isn't constantly bombarding you with audio notifications. But other conversations will still play the notification sound.

A Series & Other MobileMost apps don't. And I don't want to manually mute/unmute individuals. If I forget to unmute who knows when will I notice.
This is a basic feature in many many android flavors, I used LineageOS before switching to samsung's own, that allowed it. IIRC Xiaomi and its other smaller brands also have this feature. I did not even anticipated that such a basic feature which is present in other phones for 10+ years will be missing.
