Hello.

On the A26 When I go to the Google play store, and select "manage apps and devices" to select "Sync apps and devices," it is blacked out ( not able to click or select) I have done all the steps suggested and was told its not a google account problem but a phone setting issue- can anyone advise? Id like to be able to sync apps that are not managed as part of an account/ Thanks!!

@Bradygirl012 Do you happen to have a work account on that device?

I'm wondering if it is possible that the MDM of the work account is blocking it.

Hello Bradygirl012, thank you for reaching out to the Community. We understand how frustrating it can be when functions do not work as they should.
I have listed some steps below that may assist you with syncing the apps.

1. Enable your Background Data and the Data Saver.
If your phone is restricting data in the background, the sync option will be disabled.
Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Store.
Tap on Mobile data.
Ensure "allow background data usage" is turned ON.
Ensure "allow app while Data saver" on is turned ON.
2. Turn off power saving Mode.
Battery optimization often disables syncing to save power.
Go to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery.
Turn Power saving to OFF.
3. Check Account Sync Settings.
Ensure that overall account syncing is allowed on your phone.
Go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts.
Tap your Google account.
Tap Sync account.
Ensure all toggles (especially "App data" or "Google Play Store") are turned on.
4. Clear Google Play Services and Store Cache.
Corrupted cache files can prevent features from loading properly.
Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear cache and Clear data.
Repeat this for Google Play Services (find it in the same App list).
Restart your phone.
5. Check for "Auto Sync" Toggle
Go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts.
Ensure the Auto sync data toggle at the bottom is enabled.
6. Verify "Sync App" Usage.
If you are trying to sync apps to a new phone, ensure both devices are signed into the exact same Google account.
If these steps do not work, it is possible that the "Sync apps and devices" feature is currently being updated by Google, or it is restricted by a work/school profile if you have one on your phone.

ok I have done these steps, and some thing I have noticed for this step

Go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts.
Tap your Google account. its has Sync acct google
Tap Sync account. my only options to Sync are Contacts Calendar Drive and Gmail should there be an option for google store? otherwise even after doing these steps there is no change- I do not work right now, and I have no affiliations with a school, although I did several years in the past, I do not have those accts anymore and I dont have any of the software on my phone anymore.

I am now -wondering if resetting my phone would solve the issue, or just make it worse?
