I was using my A35 when it suddenly went black and will not charge, turn back on, or be recognized when i plug it into a laptop. I have tried hard reseting it and nothing happens. Does anyone have any ideas what could have happened

That could be anything. Sounds like a job for the phone repair place. How old is the phone? If you cannot even recognize it on a PC there isn't a lot you can do with it. If it were my phone I would take the back off and make sure the battery is still connected but if you have never disassembled a phone before I would have someone else do it. Its very likely you could do more damage than good.
