Install Gboard: Open the Google Play Store, search for "Gboard", and install it.

Open Settings: Navigate to your phone's Settings menu.

General Management: Scroll down and select General management.

Keyboard List: Tap on Keyboard list and default (or Language and input > On-screen keyboard).

Enable Gboard: Ensure the toggle for Gboard is turned on.

Set as Default: Tap Default keyboard and select Gboard

Im having the same problem. It won't allow me to use my microphone to do voice to text either. It locks my message up and I have to start over when I click on my microphone.

Hey there, Melissahart! For more clarification, are you having issues with making Google keyboard as your default? Or just voice to text/microphone not working? If it's both, I would recommend trying the previous steps provided on how to make Google keyboard as the default. For issues with the microphone/voice to text, have you attempted to clear cache and data on the Messages app? Give this link here a try: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10001372/

If that doesn't work, try testing your phone in Safe Mode. This mode disables all third-party apps from running in the background, makes it easier to determine an app is the cause. Follow this link here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10003495/

Please let me know if this helps! ๐Ÿ™‚
