My A52 no longer shows up on Windows

Why on earth do people mark this issue as solved through the years when the reasons are all so different and in reallity no one has ever reached a propper solution other than update drivers in Windows or other OS's.

So I leave here another appeal. Why do Samsung phones suddenly stop being seen by Windows when all the setups are correctly?

An it is not a cable, not a USB port, no bad drivers. It is a bug in the Phone itself.

Further, we are not interested in signing in to Samsung cloud or MS cloud or any cloud and transfer files to it. Nor are we interested in Reseting the phone.

the phone is recognised by windows, only it ID does not appear, and as such, windows will not show it properly.

Forget Windows link etc.

Time that Samsung recognises this as a serious error and sorts it out instead of waiting for clients to buy another phone. Because if that is the idea, I will go to another Brand.

It could just as easily be a Microsoft issue. Why do people always assume whatever goes wrong is Samsung's fault? If an issue is marked as solved, most likely it means it was solved for that specific instance, depending on who marked it solved. Many times a moderator issues troubleshooting steps and closes the thread to prevent a whole lot of conflicting advice. It is their prerogative to do so per the site terms.

well, yes... however, one can see that it was not entirely solved. Only for one Person.

a) it is not a windows problem. I can rest assure you or anybody.

b) we as occasional users do not know these Site terms.

c) I really do not care about site terms. I care that I have 7 different models of Samsung phones at home, I always use Samsung. In this case 3 Android v. 14, A33, A52 and S24. Both die A33 and the S24 work on just about any computer I have connected them to. only the A52 suddenly stopped working.

d) all solutions, mostly copy cat texts from other places with the same fraseology even, are useless solutions around a problem which has been known by thousands of clients since at least 2022. However, Samsung themselves do not come forward with a solution at all. Samsung knows what the problem is. But it is easy to just have people go figure and buy another Model. Right? Right!

Have you a solution? Let us hear it. Thank you

a) I do not know how you feel with absolute certainty that it is not a Windows issue or an issue with your Windows configuration. The fact that you don't even consider that it could be, tells me everything about you.

b) It does not matter if you are an occasional or frequent user of *any* site, it behooves you to know the TOS.

c) You should care about site terms for any site you visit.  What you are saying is akin to, "I don't know the law and I don't care about the law, so why are you arresting me?"

d) It is possible that since your A52 is the only one that is not connecting, there could be some defect in either that *particular* phone (i.e. not every A52 on the market, just yours) or your phone configuration.  If a post was closed as a solution, even as a solution for that one particular instance, it was solved for that particular instance.  That's how things are on help sites - a problem gets posted, people offer solutions, the poster either marks any of those responses as a solution or doesn't. the fact is that it was the solution for that person.  No one is here to solve global issues.  If a moderator posts troubleshooting tips, and closes the thread it is because there is nothing more to be said and conflicting advice gets contentious.

If you are not satisfied that you could not find a solution, either here or through Google, then you should put in an error report directly with the Samsung team.  This is a peer-to-peer user help forum, not a direct link to Samsung developers.  You can put in an error report through the support tab of the Members app.  Select "send feedback", tap the arrow, select your device, state your issue in as much detail as possible and allow your logs to be uploaded.

Download Samsung usb driver and install. Try Samsung Smart Switch to transfer files to your computer.

Wrong solution. Does not work at all on thousands of Android Phones not just Samsung. I know Samsung cases on which it worked until the next time the phone is disconnected and reconnected.

Very sorry. And thank you for your, and everybody who suggest something, patience and endeavour.

For me is a nightmare.

You can only speak for yourself not "thousands" of Android users.  Unless they are all here adding their voices, you do not know if, in fact, their issues have been solved.  And all Android users are not Samsung users.  You seem to think that Samsung is responsible for all of Android. Your issue apparently has not been solved, and that's unfortunate.  As stated above, the only real way to find out what is causing your issue is to submit an error report.

A reply for anyone reading about this old problem here.

Samsung knows the problem. And they know why. They just do not wish to tells the truth.

There about 20 different solutions to this. Samsung never comes along ans tells us clients what to do. They use hot shots who are contributers and think they know everything.

I tried all possible solutions presented everywhere. None has worked so far.

A friend has told what the problem is, and believe me it is not solvable to most because of some criotical issues which neither Google nor Samsung or any other smartphone manufaturer wishes to discuss.

I have tried diverse smartphones now, apart from my three S24, A33 and my A52. on different computers. Only the A52 does not hook up using MTP USB device protocol. Not to windows not to Linux not to IOS.

Nothing wrong with the USB ports people, Maybe by some there is dust or humidity, those are usual the ones that get it solved. Bless them.

Otherwise, I blame samsung because it is a samsung smartphone.

So do not mark this as solved. It is not ever. If you doubt me check also, AI all of them even the chinese one.

The problem is deeper than this and it is a ponzy scvheem to make various people world wide go and screw up their phones, or send it to support or buy a new one.

Samsung must find an urgent solution. Samsung must provide us with an App to check USB Ports and USB connectivity.

The problem, then, obviously rests with *your* particular A52, not all of them, otherwise you would not be the only one posting here.  You admittedly said you tried connecting other phones and *only* the A52 did not work. Do you know anyone else with an A52 to try? Have you tried it on anyone else's computer? There is not some global conspiracy between Google, all other Android phone manufacturers and Samsung against you, that no one is telling you what's really going on.  The fact of the matter is, if you have a bad phone, you have a bad phone.  If your configuration is at fault, then reset your phone,  making sure you have a complete SmartSwitch backup first.  You think windows cannot possibly be at fault, but it would not be unheard of that it is compatible with with all phones *except* the A52.
