My files app on Samsung Galaxy A15 5g used to be simple process to move files but now something happened and it's a real pain.

FYI, On my Galaxy a12, if you want to move a file, you click move and the path is always shown near the top of the phone so you could quickly move a file to another folder that's within the same parent folder easily.

The Galaxy a15 was also working like this but now when you click move, a modal window opens and you basically have to start from the internal folders and scroll to where you want to paste the file. this is a much lengthier process. I

is this an upgrade or is there any way to go back the way it was,  the same way the a15 handles this?

Could you provide a screenshot? Because mine is working like it always has.

Are you sure you're using "My Files", which is a Samsung app? I am on an S24 Ultra on the One UI8 beta, and "My Files" by Samsung is working exactly the way you explained it initially above. However, when I open up "Files", which is a Google app, it's working the way you explained the second time.

Here are some screenshots. You can see the a12 shows the path near the top of the phone whereas on the a15 tA12_1.jpgA12_2.jpgA15_1.jpgA15_2.jpgA15_3.jpghe modal does not show the path forcing you to start at ":internal folders"  and scroll to wherever you want to move the folder

Are both phones' software up to date? Are they both on the same version of Android and One UI? If not, that could be the problem.

both both phones are are up to date.  The a12 is is version ui 4.1 Android Android 12.  The a15 is ui 6.1 android 14.

Is there any way I can get the A15 Behavior to be the same as the A12?

Probably not, because the a12 software is very outdated and it appears some of the functions associated with One UI 4.1 no longer exist nor are supported.

That's too bad.  The higher the the version the worse it gets.
