Hi!

I hope someone can help please.  I have a Samsung A16 phone, with which I can answer incoming phone calls by swiping the green icon as normal.  I do not have to unlock the screen using my PIN.

When I receive a video call however, I have to unlock the phone using my PIN before I can answer.  I have made sure the app sending the video call has full permissions and "appears on top" set properly.

Is there another setting by which I can answer the video call without unlocking the phone first? (just like a normal phone call).

Thank you for your help!

In your video call app make sure that Show or hide content when locked is set to Default (Show always) under Notification Settings.

Hi @Pianodude58 ,

Thanks you for your reply and help.

The video call app is set to Default (show always|) under notification settings, but I still have to unlock my phone to answer the video call!

Which app are you using for these video calls? If it's a specific one like WhatsApp or Messenger, I can give you the exact menu path for that app's internal security settings.

Hi Mpaauw,  many thanks for your help with this issue.  The app I am using is Tapo (video doorbell app).  I have tried the workthrough you suggested, but do not have some of the menu choices you recommended.  (For example, I do not have "lock screen notifications" only "lock screen appearance".  I have tried everything else you suggested but the phone still asks for a PIN before I can answer the video call.

I appreciate all your help with this.  I suspect that only the phone app has local authority to bypass the lock screen and for everything else, the PIN must be entered.

Best regards and thanks once again,

DF
