Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with my Samsung Galaxy A16 4G after the latest software update.

The fingerprint sensor has stopped working since the update. It either doesn’t respond or fails to recognize fingerprints.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Restarting the phone
  • Deleting and re-adding fingerprints
  • Cleaning the fingerprint sensor
  • Performing a factory reset

After the factory reset, the fingerprint worked normally at first, but after some time, the problem came back again.

This issue started only after the latest update, and the fingerprint was working perfectly before that.

Could you please advise if this is a known issue or provide a solution?

Thank you.

It might be a longshot, but have you tried booting your phone into Safe Mode? This disables 3rd party apps to make sure there isn't a conflict.

To enter Safe Mode, from the Power Menu, press and hold Power Off until the option to restart in Safe Mode appears.

Try this whenever this happens:

1. Go to settings.
2. Apps.
3. Next to where it says "your apps" on the right-hand side, tap on the three lines with the down arrow.
4. Toggle on "show system apps."
5. In the search box, type "Bio"; you will see "Biometrics."
6. Go to storage and clear cache.1776095012187.jpg
