So recently i switched to samsung messaging from Google messenger I just bought my samsung A15. Had for a month now. I didnt't know at first that samsung had their own messaging program. Everything transferred except for my group chat. I am not able to type in the group chat anymore. Why is that?

What are some of the pro's and cons of samsung messaging versus Google?

What are the main differences between them?

What are some things I can do with samsung messaging that I can't do with Google and vice versa ?

How do I use samsungs Ai? Not Google's ai

It's recommend using Google Messages due to Samsung's decreased frequency of updates for its messaging application. Google Messages benefits from nearly continuous updates, particularly given its pre-installation on the device.

Why would you switch from Google Messages to Samsung Messages?  Go back to Google Messages and you should still be able to communicate with your group chat. Besides, you are already familiar with it's settings and interface.  Google Messages should be already installed on your phone, but if it's not, you know where to get it. While you can have both messaging apps on your phone, only one can be used at a time.  You will have to make Google Messages your default if you choose to go back to using it.  Samsung still seems to be trying to decide whether to continue support for its messaging app or continue to let it expire naturally.

I like Samsung's messages for a few reasons such as more customization, a recycle bin and easy access to contacts list conveniently at the bottom. I prefer the way Google handles OTP's though

You should search Youtube for comparisons to see what features are better suited to your needs as they each have some things the other doesn't.

I don't need any of the features of Samsung Messages.  I don't need a trash bin, because messages I want to delete,  I delete purposefully.  If I am unsure about deleting any or it's important, I archive it so I don't see it or accidentally delete it.  I don't need my app to be gussied up with themes, I prefer function and I rather like the color block themes in Google I can assign to chats.  The contact list in the app is irrelevant, as a) you can send a text directly from the contacts app or call log, b) In Google messages, when you start a new chat, your contact list automatically pops up, or you can just type in the number of someone not in your list.

I too prefer Messages from Samsung - especially the Categories.  But it seems like Group Chats and Mass Text are messing things up as I will have two different conversations with the same people and it gets hard to track in both

You usually have to choose between group chats and mass text (two different things), for some reason, you can't have both.  In any case, if you are carrying on two different chats that have overlapping participants, you should be able to give the chats each a unique name.  I don't know if it's possible in SM, but it is in GM.  I name all my group chats, simply because I don't want to keep seeing tom green, mary smith & jane doe. I'd name my chat with the focus of the chat - such as family chat, lucy's wedding, alpha project team.
