If your phone is within the limited one your warranty period, you should be eligible for a repair related to manufacturer defects.
Did you actually smash your phone, or are you saying you were very frustrated with the phone in a hyperbolic way?
Physical damage, intentional or not, would not be covered under warranty, and would likely result in the repair center attributing the SIM tray failure to the physical damage. This would result in you being ineligible for warranty repair.
