Samsung messages ending?

Has anyone else gotten a message saying June 6th 2026 Samsung messages will not be available anymore?

Yes it's being replaced fully in July by Google. Which offers more features and is more secure

I hate Google messages!! Why is this happening? I've had samsung for over 20 years!! Now none of my samsung themes work on my messages!! I guess I'll just change to another phone.

Changing to another phone is not going to solve anything regarding Samsung Messages being deprecated.

I love those "I don't wanna use Google messages" people who will switch phones just to have to use Google messages.

It's happeneing because Samsung decided to discontinue the app.

Have you been on vacation? This notification went out more than a week ago, and there are very many posts about on this app. You are being encouraged to switch to Google messages, but you can use any messaging app you want except Samsung, as that will be gone.

No does that mean i can't use Samsung to download apps anymore

You can download apps from the Galaxy store or the Play store.  What does downloading apps have to do with messaging?  Samsung decided to discontinue ONE app.
