So i have an A17 5G. Ive checked if the phone is compatible with screen recording and its supposed to be.

I just got the phone and today i was trying to screen record, id press the button, nothing happened.

I went to the quick settings bar to see if I could take it off (you know, like, to reset it) so i took it off and when i was searching for it again, it dissapeared. Completely.

I had tried to search for screen recording settings before but nothing came up. Even now, nothings coming up. I've tried searching for it in Advanced Settings, reset my phone yada yada.

Nothing

Can anyone tell me what happened??? How can I fix this?

Have you pulled down the auick tab menu and tap Edit or pencil icon to add "screen recorder" from the available buttons that have been hidden from quick tab menu.

Try wiping the "cache partition" to see if that helps. Clearing the "cache partition" can help resolve any issues caused by corrupted system cache data.

Follow the steps below,

Clear the cache partition
- Turn the phone off (shut down)
- Press and hold the Volume Up key, then press and hold the side key.
- When the Android system recovery menu options show release buttons.
- Press the volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
- Press the side key to select.
- Press the volume down key to highlight yes, then press the side key to select.
- When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system is now highlighted.
- Press the side key to restart the device.

One place to check is, swipe app on your screan towards to bottom and open your apps screan apps menu or apps list. In the menu on that page which on my phone the menu button is in the bottom right corner next to the search . Its either 3 dots or 3 small lines select that button with either of those depending on your device. Select settings from the menu options. Scroll down to
Hide Apps or Hidden Apps. I dont recall which but select the settings optio after scrolling down, select the Hide in that window scroll down to see if your app has been selected to Hide.
I had that same thing happen. :fire::fire:

It has always been my understanding that the A1x series, being the lowest end models, do not support screen recording, only screenshots. If the screen recording icon does not appear in you quick panel and is not available to be added in the editor, then it is not supported.  If you go to settings/advanced features/screen shots and screen recordings and you do not have settings options for screen recordings, then it is not supported.  You will have to use a third party app.

It disappeared because it's not supported, and it was obviously a glitch. The phone's hardware may be capable, but it's not a feature included in the lowest models.
