Hello hell0w0rld, welcome to the Samsung Community. I understand that it can be very nerve-wracking when your device freezes or crashes. The good news is that this can probably be fixed with some troubleshooting. First, verify that your device is up to the latest software. Try your device in Safe Mode to verify that a third party software isn't causing the issue: Booting your Samsung Galaxy into Safe mode | Samsung CA

Perform a factory data reset, please be sure to back up your device before performing the reset:

Perform a factory reset on your Galaxy phone or tablet

If you are still experiencing issues, then I recommend that you have your device check out by a certified service technician. You can private message any moderator by selecting and clicking on the chat option or you can proceed with the self-service option here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/

It depends on what you were doing. It's a low end, basic phone that was not meant to be much more than a phone. If you were trying to play anything other than simple games or trying to run multiple app that use a lot of resources, freezing and lags can happen. If the phone is overheating, that will happen. You don't have to feel the heat for it to be overheating internally.
