That should not be happening when you start the phone

If you just got the device and are setting it up for the first time, I would suggest a factory reset. Much easier to deal with on a fresh device, and you can be assured that everything is reset because you did it yourself.

Not a bad suggestion, however I did the smart switch and really do want to start over. Getting rid of all the google wasn't easy. Still working on that.

If you used Smart Switch to transfer everything once, it can be done again. A factory reset is probably your best bet, rather than trying to troubleshoot, figure out what is happening, and possibly arrive at the same conclusion after a lot more work. If it were me, I'd cut my losses.

Is the camera taking a pic of you because you're entering the wrong PIN?

Your hearing the shutter etc. No pictures in the gallery. The pin is correct. When setting up i entered the same number twice as I should.

Hello hwj,

Thanks for reaching out. I totally agree with what @Mujibar suggested a factory reset since you used Smart Switch for the transfer.

If you are still experiencing the same symptoms after the factory reset, then I recommend booting your phone in Safe Mode. A third-party app could be causing the symptom that you are experiencing, and this would disable all third party apps from running in the background.

Test in Safe Mode:

1. Press and hold the power button (or Side button) until the Power menu appears.
2. Long-press the Power off icon on the screen until it changes to "Safe mode".
3. Tap Safe mode to restart.

If the symptoms does not occur in Safe Mode, then a third-party app is the culprit. Start by the most recent, and delete until the symptoms no longer occur.

Exiting Safe Mode: Restart your phone normally.
