I am concerned with the inability to receive all messages through the Samsung Messages App. I am being forced to use the Google Messages App, which is not as customizable or user friendly in order to receive all of my texts, group texts in particular. Samsung states that this move is to "bring our users more open, inclusive, and superior experiences across messaging platforms." However it doing just the opposite. I am not longer able to customize my messages and the customizations I do make to enhance my experience affect and change users of other phones and vice versa. I have an exponential amount of texts stands streams which is frustrating and confusing. I am unable to keep up and privacy has now become an issue.

I would appreciate and like that Samsung update the Messaging app to include RCS or at least be compatible so that I can continue to have the Samsung experience that I was used to

Unfortunately, you as a consumer are being forced to use Google Messages. Which I was not happy about personally either.

Samsung stopped pre-loading 'Samsung Messages' when they launched the S22 line in 2022. They continued to support the app until the phones that were released with the app no longer received major software updates. At the end of 2022, they put out a notice in Samsung Messages stating that the app was going to be shut down with the launch of One UI 7.

The biggest deciding factor for Samsung to do this with some of their own apps was because the Android Software is from Google. The more powerful phones get, the more the software can do. So, when it's time to develop the major Android update, it becomes harder for Samsung to fully test and create updates for these apps. That's also why the One UI 7 [Android 15] update was severely delayed. Google released Android 15 in October, 2024. Samsung was supposed to push the update by the end of November 2024. It was fully realesed for brick phones in March 2025 and April 2025 for foldables. After pushing the beta testing software to willing people's phones, it was very unstable due to the app incompatibility. So Samsung pulled the plug on some of Samsung specific apps. They are currently doing the same thing with the Samsung Videos. But, I hope this helps with the confusion.

Google messages is superior in every way to Samsung messages.  If your only beef is that you can't make it "pretty", then that is sad.  I prefer my apps to be functional.  Google has a limited set of color themes, but it does have them.  In 20 years, I have never had a single issue with not receiving or being able to send a text.  My group texts are perfect (too perfect, I'd be happy if people didn't include me).  Samsung has every right to discontinue any app they choose.  If you went to another Android brand you would be forced into Google Messages anyway, as Samsung Messages is proprietary to Samsung and other brands do not have their own messaging apps.  They use Google Messages as their native message reader.  If you went to iPhone, you'd have to deal with iMessage.

Google Messages blows. It drains my battery on all my devices like there is unlimited power. I want Samsung Messages back.

There is absolutely no reason on Earth or the universe that Google Messages would use any power whatsoever, let alone drain your battery.  It's a message reader, a shell, it does nothing but download your messages and enumerates them for you to read.  The same thing Samsung Messages, or any other messaging app does.

I wish there was an answer, but ever since I moved over to Google Messages, it is consistently the number one battery drainer on both my phone and tablet. To the point even where using 15 minutes of screen on time for YouTube is below Google Messages in the battery setting's most used apps.

Must be something with your configuration.  I have been using Google Messages for 20+ years and it barely even registers in my battery usage statistics (<.3%). For instance, today's usage is .3% with background usage stated as 5 h 9 m.  This is more or less consistent daily.

Do you ever clear your phone's cache partition?  The app partition? The app data?  There is no reason it should be at the top of your battery usage list.  You know what the big battery chewer is for me? The Samsung Members app and OneUI Home are usually the top 2 and they usually go no higher than 4% (if that).

Neither Google, nor Samsung messages requires a password.  However, both your Google and Samsung accounts do, and you need to be logged into the respective accounts to use them (which you would be in order to use your phone anyway).
