Upgraded to A26 5G and still not receiving notifications once screen times out

So I had an issue with my A13 5G not showing or sounding app notifications if the screen was off, most importantly X, Facebook and Amazon.  I tried numerous times to fix it and it just couldn't be done.  I was tired of missing notifications so I upgraded to a Samsung A26 5G.  However the same issue is happening.  When the screen times out the app notifications do not come across.  In my travels even though I don't have sleeping, battery saver, etc. on Doze Stopper was recommended just to try.  I did install and no difference.  Then I heard about Always on Display and that it could help.  My phone does not have a native version but I downloaded AOA from the Google Store.  But I shut the screen off and it goes black with the power button and after about a minute the AOA starts up.  I have it set up to show ALL app notifications on the screen.  It did show Samsung Members with Icon and Sound but once I double tapped the screen to turn on did a bunch of X messages come through.  Everything is showing on the lock screen and all settings I believe are as they should be.  The one thing missing is under App Notifications in Settings it used to have to configure in the app itself or adjust settings on the phone, like with android posts from people I follow had been silent on the A13.  The only thing to configure is through X itself.  I am at a loss as I figured going with a more expensive, newer, better phone would correct the issues.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for responding.  Is there a way to change it, I take it no?  As I said this phone does not have a native Always on Display setting so I downloaded the AOA app.  But that is not showing notifications as it should.  It doesn't work correctly but I know it is running.  When the screen first shuts down it is black and the AOA starts about a minute later.  But that is still not bringing across Twitter notifications at least.

No it is not.  I had read that some Samsung phones actually have an Always on Display toggle switch in the Display settings but mine does not.  This is supposed to 'fill-in' for the official one but I got it off the Google Store.  There are 2 apps on the Samsung Store that are for that.

This one is not free and only has a rating of 2 out of 5 by some developers.

This one is made by Samsung and I am going to try it.  But I am not sure if it accepts notifications when running.  Especially if the function is not native to the phone.

Just tried to download the official Samsung App.  It says This app is incompatible with your device.

On the galaxy store.  A Samsung published app, too.
