I want the S8 watch but with Comcast (USA), they do not sell unless I take additional mobile line.  I want the S8 watch with Wi-Fi, Blue Tooth and Mobile Tethering support, not an additional line.  One Comcast Sales Associate and a very knowledgeable technical lead having transferred from mobile engineering, said yes.

After activation, of phone and purchase of protective case (ignorantly of protective case with wireless charging magnetic component), I went to store to purchase watch where the 2nd sales associate said they could only sell with addition of mobile line.

The questions is here because Comcast does not yet cover in their AI Chat Bot yet, so it cannot be asked in their support or Comcast Community forum yet.

Carriers only sell LTE versions of the watches.  Many provide it "free" with activation of a new line of service - that's their hook.  If you want only the BT version, you will have to buy it either direct from Samsung or another retailer other than your carrier.  (Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, etc.).  It won't be as heavily discounted as obtaining it through your carrier.

If you want to use the watch via cellular you will need a separate cellular line. Without a separate cellular line, you can use the call features only when connected via Bluetooth to your phone.

The BT/wifi only version of the watch will work for phone calls while it is connected to your phone via Bluetooth, but not independently by itself. I've answered many calls via my watch (speaker phone style) when my phone was in the other room. So just buy the watch from someone other than the carrier (cause they ONLY sell the LTE versions).

Why in the world would you think a "CARRIER" would stock a Bluetooth-only model of a Galaxy Watch?

What's in it for them to do so?
