So I was going through my galaxy 21 ultra to clean junk files etc. In the device care>internal storage there is a category called "other". It has about 50GB of data in it. What is this and how do I clear it?

Settings, storage, internet and touch the three dots in upper right corner. Advanced and other, it will show you.

Are you running Android 11 or 12?

Understood.

Have you run My Files file manager and choose 3-dot menu upper right, then choose Trash?

BTW, unidentified data files are categorized as “Other", and can be all types of stuff, like failed downloads, cached data from various apps ... the list goes on.

Unfortunately, the options that existed in Android 11 UI3 for checking on these files does not exist with 12.

Yeah I checked the trash, and nothing is there. I guess I'll have to wait for a patch for the option to be added back

... that won't usually affect it. Hubby and I both tested and "other" was almost the same size, just megabytes difference

Yeah I've tried that. Nothing in there even close to being that big
