After the most recent update to my Galaxy S21, I noticed the 'recent apps button' located in the bottom left corner now only shows Samsung apps (calculator, calendar, alarm clock, file folder, etc.). It used to show the most recent apps used and would dynamically change based on my most recently used apps. This is how I've navigated my phone for years, and now it has just magically disappeared, making it extremely inconvenient to access my most recently used apps.

Hello! Thank you so much for reaching out! I Can definitely understand the concerns with this, as it's a great convenient feature.
I believe what a lot experienced initially, is after the first update it reset the Recent Apps area, but it should change over time based on the app usage and how you’re using the phone. Mine personally did so but took a little time.
There was a recent update that was released, to help address some bugs with the Recent Apps area. We recommend making sure you have the latest version of the software update, and this should resolve the symptoms.
If it’s still not acting properly after the update, we would recommend trying to perform a Factory Data Reset on your device. This is a best practice to do after any big updates, as there could be just a minor glitch or communicational error with why it’s not working. By doing the factory data reset you’ll be able to reset all that communication inside your device and help everything talk a little better.
As Always before trying a Factory data reset we recommend backing up all your content Photos, contacts, and applications. You can find the steps to factory resetting the device here -> https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/
If After performing the update and the reset, should the symptoms persists, the only other steps we can advise doing would be reporting the issue to the engineers directly by submitting an error report inside of the Samsung Members Application.
To Submit an Error Report, Do the following:
- Long press the Samsung Members icon on the Apps screen and Tap Error reports
2. Tap OK on the agreement popup for sending system log data
3. Select Symptom category
4.Describe problem in detail and SEND.
Same issue here, only showing stock apps and not refreshing based on my recently used apps. Very inconvenient as I need to quick switch between apps for work and school. Pls fix ASAP.
