S20 wont sleep after update

I updated my s20 ultra at the start of 2022 and ever since it won't go to sleep. I've been following other members with similar issues and have tried almost everything short of a hard reset, which I don't want to do if I can avoid it I figured that eventually Samsung will fix this in subsequent updates and have been waiting for that ever since But yesterday I updated my A71 (work phone) and now it's doing the very same thing. Either Samsung's not aware of the issue or they have a "gremlin" lurking

What is your screen timeout is set to? I wonder if this is a bug with the update or a glitch in the cache partition.

so the screen doesn't turn off on its own? have you tried it in safe mode?
