Sent as sms via server instead of read receipts after update

My S21 updated yesterday (June 3, 2022) and now when I text other Android users my read receipts have been replaced with "sent as sms via server" and I can no longer see when others are typing. What does that mean?

Open the Samsung messages application and then look for the little lines, then go to settings and then more settings, next go to the text message option and turn on show delivered, then back in the settings menu look for multimedia messages and then turn on show when delivered, I highly recommend trying the Google Messages application which has been optimized for use on Samsung phones it also has Rcs chat services built-in https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging

Yes correct, if you are looking for a better messaging solution for your phone I recommend trying Google messages, it was actually pre installed on the S22 ultra series phone and the Google messages application has some really great features like Rcs chat services and notifications when texting someone who is using a iPhone, it is worth trying and you can always switch back without losing your text messages, it has better Spam protection and allows Bixby to access your messages

I have an A52 and I started getting sent as sms via server.
I been to settings changed and tried different settings, This issue comes and goes at different times with different receiptents nor does it matter what I change in settings.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
