Recent software update to S10e (Verizon) broke previously working wifi direct / smartview screen mirroring to Sony Bravia. Based on prior experience, I can see the phone and TV are connecting. Screen on TV goes black and there is no sound. Screen on phone still shows content, but sound stops on phone, as it did prior to phone update. Connection process on phone side looks somewhat different since update, but on TV side the connection process is the same. Just no longer mirrors screen or provides sound to TV.
Phone: S10e running Android 10 kernel ver 4.14.17; update applied 12/28/19
TV: Sony Bravia XBR-55X900F (no available updates)
There is no external network involved. Using wifi-direct between TV & phone. Worked fine before the phone update. Have restarted both devices multiple times. Cleared data cache for the TV's wifi-direct app so it would treat the phone as new device (this would often fix any prior fail-to-connect issues). Again, connection process appears normal and indications are the two are connected via wifi-direct and Smartview. The TV even provides a successful connection message. The only change to the mix is the recent update to the S10e phone software.
Thoughts??

The April 2020 Android update has apparently corrected the problem. Images and sound again mirroring to the TV.

Having the same issue. Contacted Samsung support. Only suggestion was to clear cache on Smart View app. Did not fix problem. Only option offered was to wait for app developer to fix the break caused by recent update.

Same issue here in the UK. I've got a samsung S10+ and this new software update broke the screen mirroring feature. Really, really annoyed!!!
SAMSUNG sort it out quick! !

Don't waste your time wiping and reinstalling the TV. Tried that just in case it was the TV - no effect. I also installed the Jan 2020 phone update - problem remains.

I forgot to add . . .
If you are willing to use hotspot data on the phone, you CAN use the phone's Google Home functionality and the mirroring will still work from there. However some apps, like HBO NOW, will block their content if you go that route - the app will appear onscreen, the requested content will not. The concern is burning through the hotspot data cap on my cell plan. Something the Smart View app allowed me to bypass.

Same issue here. I used to be able to display whatever was on my S10e onto the Sony TV but now I get a stupid screen that says:
Connected to Xxxx Cell
Choose a photo, video, or music in a Samsung app to play it here.
I just want to show my phone's screen on the TV like I have since I've had my phone! Now it won't work. Nothing I try will share my screen.
Samsung quit breaking my stuff!!!
