Google Play Protect certification?

JUMP TO SOLUTION

I recently took the Android n beta upgrade. I've tried to set up Google Play however it reports that the device is not Play Protect certified. Is this because of the beta?

It is possible that beta build is the culprit here.  Before beta though, the device was certified, right?

Same problem, just says device not certified, must be a beta glitch!

I did not setup Google Pay before taking the beta. I'm not sure whether the problem would have existed before the update.
