I can definitely see how your touchscreen only works with the stylus can be problematic. Give the following steps a try and see if that helps.

  • Update the Chromebook.

    • In the About window, select Check for and apply updates. The Chromebook will start to install any available updates. After the updates are installed, select Restart to update and then proceed back to Step 1.

  • Restart the Chromebook.

    • Press and hold the Power key until the power light shuts off, and then press the Power key again to turn it back on.

  • Make sure that the device has not been cleaned with any spray, liquid, or any harsh chemicals.

  • Powerwash the unit.

    • To perform a Powerwash, select the Status Tray on the desktop.
    • Select Settings.
    • Scroll down and select Show advanced settings.
    • Scroll down and select Powerwash.
    • Select Restart.
    • After your Chromebook has restarted, select Powerwash and Revert.

After you have performed the troubleshooting steps above and the touchscreen is still not working, service is required.
