After the BIOS update that was pushed out, Windows can no longer find the battery. That means it no longer shows up on the task bar, the battery settings, the about device settings, or a battery report through the terminal. That means I can no longer check to see how much battery I have while I am working, until the machine dies. As far as the OS is concerned there is no battery installed in the laptop. Yet if I use apps like Battery Meter to check the battery it will say I have no battery installed, but my battery is 255%.  I have seen others reporting similarly on Reddit.

I have the same issue after installing BIOS update P00AKX.060.250618.WY.1650
the other day and my machine shuts down even while plugged in.

Same here.  It's like driving with broken fuel gage!

I’m experiencing exactly the same issue on my Galaxy Book 4 Edge after the recent BIOS update.

Windows no longer detects the battery at all — no icon, no power options, and even the battery report (powercfg /batteryreport) says "battery not found."

Apps like Battery Meter or HWMonitor either show no battery, or give absurd stats (mine says 255% too).

I've tried the usual fixes:

BIOS reset

Static discharge (holding power button)

Reinstalling ACPI battery drivers via Device Manager

Booting into Safe Mode

Unfortunately, none of them worked.

This definitely seems to be caused by the BIOS update, and it's incredibly frustrating not being able to monitor battery life on a high-end machine like this.

I really hope Samsung acknowledges this and provides a BIOS patch or at least an official workaround soon.

Has anyone here actually managed to fix the issue?

If so, please let us know — it would really help the rest of us stuck in the same situation.

I also recommend reporting it directly to Samsung via their support page so they can escalate it internally
