My laptop is Samsung Galaxy Book Flex 15 bought 3 years ago. I can't login the laptop now as it says password incorrect. I changed the password last week and unfortunately, I didn't write it down.

I really need to access the files, so I want to avoid resetting it or losing any data. Is there a way to reset Samsung laptop password with any data loss If I forgot Samsung laptop password? I’ve tried the usual options, like using the password hint and attempting safe mode, but nothing seems to work. I’d appreciate any guidance or steps that can help me regain access without wiping my files.

By the way, this Samsung Galaxy laptop is running Windows 10 Home.

I don't think there is another option given that you tried the normal ones already

Do you have a Windows password reset disk? It is a security feature in Windows that allows users to reset their account password if they forget it. It is a USB drive or disk that you create while you still have access to your account, which stores the necessary data to reset Samsung laptop password without requiring the old one.

Creating a password reset disk is highly recommended for local accounts as it provides a fail-safe way to recover access to your computer without losing data.

Always make sure you have backups of your important files before trying to reset Samsung laptop password. While resetting the password shouldn’t affect your data, accidents can happen. I learned this the hard way when I tried a method and ended up losing some important documents. So, if you can access your files in any way (like through an external drive or cloud service), do it!

There are tons of password reset tools out there, but not all are created equal. Some can be dodgy and could compromise your data or even install malware. Stick to reputable tools or methods recommended by Microsoft or other trusted sources. If you set up your laptop using a Microsoft account, you have options! I totally ignored this once and tried other methods instead. If you forget your Microsoft account password, you can reset it online using another device. Just go to the Microsoft account recovery page and follow the prompts.

Forgetting Samsung laptop password can be a real hassle. Windows has built-in recovery options that can help! If you’re using a Microsoft account to log in, you can reset your password online. I didn't know this at first and wasted so much time trying to remember my password instead of just going to the Microsoft website. So, if you're tied to a Microsoft account, check that out!

Safe Mode isn’t just for fixing weird issues; it can help you reset your password too if you’ve got the right setup. I once thought I was stuck after I forgot my password and didn’t even think to try Safe Mode. Play around with it if you’re familiar!

If all else fails, boot from Windows installation media (like a USB or DVD), go to Repair Your Computer > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt. There, you can do some clever command-line tricks to reset your password (but this is a bit more advanced).

If you've forgotten Samsung laptop password and need to reset it, you can attempt to do so by using Safe Mode. However, keep in mind that Safe Mode itself does not directly allow you to reset password of Samsung laptop, but you can access additional tools to facilitate the reset process.

Step 1: Restart your PC and while it’s booting, press the F8 key on your keyboard repeatedly (before the Windows logo appears). In the Advanced Boot Options menu, select Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

Step 2: When the Command Prompt appears, type the following command to reset your password (replace "username" with your actual account name):

net user username newpassword

Step 3: Exit Command Prompt and restart your computer.  Next, use the new password to log in.
