ComputersI have a Samsung T5 500GB and a T7 1TB, and on my T5 SSD my files took up 35gb, but the SSD properties said it used up 485gb and had 15gb free, I doubled checked this on my Mac and pc.
I later found out that the SSD has a hidden trash folder, I realised my pc shows it as a .trash folder and my Mac showed it as a $recycle.bin folder but both showed different content in, which I found out was the issue. But for some reason, both hidden trash folders showed different amounts of trash:
pc - 450gb
mac - 5gb
why did they both show different amounts used? I use my SSD 99% of the time on my Mac, but I was only able to free up my space by deleting the hidden trash folder on my pc
Is there any reason for this?
Is there a way for my SSD not create this trash folder?
any time I delete things off my SSD i donβt want to be deleting from the hidden trash folder all the time too.

Computers@ItsGeorgeJones When the drive is connected to your Mac and you move something to the trash can, make sure that you empty the Mac's trash while the drive is connected. As long as you do this, you don't have to look for a hidden folder.

ComputersI had cleared out my macs trash and it didnβt do anything to the SSDs trash bin.
I just donβt know why I could only solve my issues on my pc?
I want to prevent this issue for the future

Computers@ItsGeorgeJones The Mac's empty trash command won't erase the Windows trash folder on the drive. You would need to do the same from Windows to eliminate that.
