I am trying to use a right-angle USB - C adapter to connect my Galaxy Book 4 Edge to my Mokin Thunderbolt 4 docking station.  The adapter allows for 40 Gbps data and 240W transfers.  I tried plugging this in to both my USB-C ports.  This resulted in an error (USB-C device not recognized).  I tried updating the drivers to the ports, but they are already showing up as up to date.  I also went into the power management options and disabled my PC from turning off the USB-C ports to save power.  Neither of these options worked.  I also tried restarting my device, but that resulted in the same outcome.  Is there a way to fix this?  I notice that It has happened with other USB-C 4 cables as well.  Please note, I have been using all Thunderbolt 3/4 compatible peripherals and if I connect my computer directly to my power dock, it works, but not when using the adapters.  Any help with this is appreciated.

Thanks!

The issue likely comes down to the right-angle USB-C adapter not fully supporting the Thunderbolt 4 protocol. Although some adapters are rated for high-speed USB-C data and power transfer, they may not include the specific wiring required for Thunderbolt 4, which has stricter requirements. It could help to verify that the adapter explicitly lists Thunderbolt 4 compatibility rather than just USB-C 4, as Thunderbolt 4 certification ensures consistent performance.

Much appreciated. I'm pretty sure the description on Amazon indicated Thunderbolt 4, but I'm almost certain it's not certified so that could be the problem.

Another approach would be testing a different right-angle adapter that is Thunderbolt 4 certified. Brands like CalDigit and Cable Matters offer adapters specifically designed to handle Thunderbolt 4 connections.
