I no longer have to unlock my phone when plugging in for Android Auto. this makes a lot easier because it's a lot easier to plug in your phone and set it down then plug it in and unlock it when you are driving down the road
You can turn off the "Block USB connections while locked" under Settings > Security and privacy > More security settings > Turn off "Block USB connections while locked" feature
